A little on-shelf theatre goes a long way at Christmas and at other special times of the year. Especially if you think outside the ‘gift’ box. At Christmas, consumers are always looking for gifts that are unique and conjour up a charm of Christmas’s gone by.
Challenge
Christmas is a massive sales opportunity for retailers but the purchase window can be very small. Products need to stand out on shelf and on-line to encourage impulse buys.
Lakeland tasked us with an important job: create an exclusive look for its Lily O’Brien’s range of delicious chocolate gifts that sung out with Christmas spirit but was festivally very different from the core Lily O’Brien’s look.
Approach
Lily O’Brien’s is a much-loved indigenously Irish confectionery brand. To honour its heritage and roots, we created packaging that evoked a Victorian Christmas in Dublin’s fair city. We housed the different chocolate gifts within its own simple and beautifully illustrated Dublin building or iconic Christmas icon. All of which, when placed next to one another on a shelf created a mock ‘skyline’ of Victorian Dublin.
